It’s the second week of Gin-uary and we’re back with even more fun activities to make the most of January. Have a go at some of the delicious vegan recipes and the DIY projects we’ve lined up!
January 8th: Create a Homemade Spray Air Freshener
Did you know you can use leftover gin to make an eco-friendly spray air freshener? Well, now you do! So use a bit of that leftover Christmas gin to freshen up your house.
Mix together 30ml gin, 120ml filtered water and 20-40 drops of essential oil (we like lavender, peppermint, jasmine or citrus oils). Pour into a spray bottle and spray around the house for a burst of freshness.
January 9th: Apple Business
Try out our Apple Business Recipe! You will need:
50ml Didsbury Gin Original, 30ml Apple juice, 15ml Fresh lime juice, 12.5ml Honey Syrup
Simply shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with apple slice! It really is the business!
January 10th: Cucumber Cooler
Fancy trying out our Cucumber Cooler cocktail recipe? You will need:
2 slices peeled cucumber, 8 mint leaves, 60 ml Disbury Gin Original, 22.5ml Lime Juice, 15ml Sugar syrup, 15ml Soda water
Muddle cucumber in the base of a shaker. Add gin, lime juice, sugar syrup and mint. Shake with ice and fine strain into chilled glass. Top with a splash of soda. Cool!
January 11th: Cool Ice Cubes
Try out this ingenious way of adding a garnish to those cocktails. Freeze herbs and fruit in your ice cubes beforehand!
Just place chopped fruits or herbs that you’d want to garnish your cocktails with into an ice cube mould, then pour over water and freeze overnight. We like to pair grapefruit chunks with rosemary or raspberry and mint!
January 12th: Vegan Gin Fizz
We love this recipe that substitutes the classic addition of egg whites with aquafaba for a vegan friendly gin fizz. (That’s the brine from a can of chickpeas, who knew it would be so useful?).
Use Didsbury Gin Original for a classic gin fizz or substitute in one of our bright, vibrant and zesty flavoured gins for an even more exciting gin fizz!
January 13th: Gin Mimosa
Make brunch a bit more exciting with this perfect accompaniment. This twist on a mimosa is an absolute hit with bursts of delicious blood orange.
January 14th: G&T Ice Lollies
The perfect boozy after dinner treat! Enjoy your Didsbury Gin & Tonic in frozen form. Pour the classic ingredients into an ice lolly mould, with a few cucumber slices and some mint. Delicious!
